Foxhunt at Sapphire Valley

Foxhunt at Sapphire Valley is nestled on a wooded mountainside in the southernmost part of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Some units overlook a small lake. Amenities include an outdoor pool, a park wtih picnic area, an 18-hole PGA golf course, eight clay and two hard-surfaced tennis courts, and health club with indoor pool, whirlpool and exercise equipment. Hiking, fishing, miniature golf and canoeing are other popular activities. Skiing is available mid-December through February, weather permitting. A car is needed to access the various amenities at the resort.

Fontana Village

Historic Fontana Village is bordered by Nantahala National Forest, the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and Fontana Lake. Fontana Lake offers boating, waterskiing, and fishing. Sign up for horseback riding at the resort’s stables. The resort, while rustic and secluded, offers a miniature golf course, lighted tennis courts, and two outdoor pool are open Memorial Day through Labor Day. The excercise equipment area, indoor pool, and recreation room are open year-round. The Adventure Center offers outdoor recreation including mountain biking and hiking tours.

During winter nearby Sapphire Valley Ski Area operates two runs and Frozen Falls Tube Park–weather permitting. The ski area is not operated by the resort.
