Lead Document Controller

OTTO's opportunity:

Our Lead Document Controller is responsible for the administration of OTTO's Document Control system, including managing company technical documentation, procedures and instructions. Assists in directing Document Control Clerks to assure proper operation of OTTO's Document Management system. Will work with the Quality Systems Manager to improve the Document Control system and develop, implement, and maintain a Supplier Management Program.

Note : Experience working in a manufacturing environment managing engineering documents, Bills of Material, control plans and manufacturing documentation is a must; additionally, auditing/financial/accounting experience is not applicable to this position .

Specifically, the Lead Document Controller will :

• Responsible for the maintenance and control of all OTTO drawings, ISO documentation, records and externally generated documentation.
• Provides support and backup to Document Control Clerks.
• Provides training and cross-training for Document Control personnel, as well as Farm Team members.
• Develops policies & procedures to improve OTTO's Document Control system.
• Monitors and maintains various metrics to identify actual or potential data or system gaps/deficiencies and provides solutions to eliminate or minimize the overall impact.
• Ad-Hoc member of the Material Review Board (MRB) with objective to gain insight for supplier improvement/development opportunities.
• Provides support to Inspection to assure timely disposition and closure of MRRs (Material Review Reports).
• Works with suppliers to assure timely and effective corrective action.
• Participates in the maintenance of OTTO's ISO 9001, AS9100 and ISO 14001 registrations.
• Provides support and advises staff.
• May lead and direct the work of others.
• Assists with other related duties as required or assigned.

What you'll need to bring to the table:

• Associated degree in Business, Management or a technical field, or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years Engineering/Document Control experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Computer literate in MS Outlook, Word, Excel and Access at an intermediate to advanced level.
• Requires self-motivation and ability to complete projects with strict guidelines.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Must be detail oriented.
• Requires the ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
• Working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and AS9100.
• Working knowledge of Windows based ERP systems, Syteline preferred.
