Job Description

Housekeeper. 25 temporary, full-time positions. April 1, 2026 to December 31, 2026. Orchard AFC Home d/b/a Orchard Care Services located at 73 Orchard Street, River Rouge, MI 48218. orchardafchome@yahoo.com. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation throughout the facility. Ensure all areas, including common spaces, bathrooms, and workstations, are regularly cleaned and organized. Handle laundry services, including washing, drying, folding, and distributing linens and towels in the right area. Check each assignment sheet and turn it in to the supervisor daily. Sweep and mop floors with only soap and water. Wash all linen and place it in the correct area. Ensure the housekeeping report is filled out. 40 hours per week. 8-hour workday. Monday - Friday and/or Wednesday-Sunday shifts. 7:30a.m.-3:30p.m., 3:30 p.m. -11:30 p.m., or 11:30 p.m. - 7:30 a.m. OT hours possible. No minimum education is required. No minimum experience is required. Criminal background check required. Adherence to all workplace safety and compliance regulations. Comply with all health and safety regulations. Adhere to all facility policies and procedures. The employee will not supervise other workers. Travel will not be required. Wage: $16.33/hour. OT Wage: $24.50/hour. Workers paid biweekly. Optional board/lodging available at $150 per week to be deducted from pay, if elected. In accordance with applicable Michigan state law, Earned Sick Time Act 338, employers are required to provide earned sick time to their employees. The amount of paid sick leave provided may vary depending on the size of the business. On the job training provided. Raises and/or bonuses may be offered to any worker in the specified occupation, at the company's sole discretion, based on individual factors including work performance, skill and tenure. Single workweek will be used to compute wages due. All deductions from the worker's paycheck required by law will be made. If the worker completes 50% of the work contract period, the employer will reimburse the worker for transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, the employer will provide or pay for workers' reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer or where the employer has appropriately reported a worker's voluntary abandonment of employment. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Daily subsistence provided at a rate of at least $16.28/day during travel to a maximum of $68/day with receipts/documentation of actual expenses. H2B Workers will be reimbursed in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing and other related fees, including those mandated by the government (except passport fees). Employer will provide workers at no charge all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job, and guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least three-fourths of the workdays in each 12 week period of total employment period.
