Overview Precision Contracting Services needs bandwidth to support multiple high-profile projects in the outside plant (OSP) and enterprise commercial space. Technicians will work with other full-time team members in commercial or outside plant environments. Depending on experience, responsibilities include troubleshooting and installing low voltage and structured cabling-related work. Responsibilities Report to the office around 6:30 AM – 7:00 AM and participate in a project scope meeting. Travel to job sites in a company van/truck with other team members. Prep and splice fiber optic cables, locate problem areas, and perform repairs as needed. Proficient with fiber connector prep, installation, and fiber test equipment; initiate test and turn-up procedures. Fabricate, assemble, and install cable pathways including cable trays through facilities, trenches, and manholes. Install, splice, terminate, and test vertical backbone and horizontal fiber optic and copper cable systems. Perform fusion splicing and pigtail splicing, and install fiber connectors. Install cable in aerial, underground, and inside plant environments; manage ring/hot cuts. Install fiber closures, terminations, connectors, patch panels, and related materials. Bond and ground fiber cables according to client specifications. Understand OTDR operation and interpretation; read traces and determine whether specifications are met overall and per event. PCS utilizes Corning fusion splicers (M-90, X-77, I-LID, and Opti-Splice LID fusion splicers). Qualifications Fiber optic, fiber optic testing, fiber optic splicing, OTDR, Troubleshooting BICSI certification (or equivalent) recommended Must be able to take feedback and training; capable of working long hours Ability to follow instructions and take coaching from peers Willingness to become a full-time employee (PCS promotes from within) Experience Level Expert Level Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $52,000.00 - $62,400.00/yr.
