Job Title: Creative Arts Director

Job Summary:
To advance OWCCs mission as the churchs chief storyteller, casting vision, shaping culture, and championing creativity that draws people closer to Jesus. This hands-on role leads the Comm. Arts ministry through vision, planning, and execution across video, design, worship environments, and digital media. The Creative Arts Director both creates and coordinates content, developing systems, volunteers, and strategies that tell OWCCs story with clarity and beauty to inspire people to draw closer to Jesus and to one another..

Primary Duties:

  1. Provide direction and oversight for all areas of Communications and Creative Arts, including video, graphic design, digital media, and live production.
  2. Create and manage content for OWCCs social media, website, livestream, and digital channels, ensuring a consistent and engaging voice.
  3. Manage creative workflows, timelines, and project coordination across ministries to ensure alignment, clarity, and follow-through.
  4. Develop and implement a comprehensive creative and communications strategy that aligns with the churchs mission, ministry calendar, and sermon series.
  5. Collaborate with ministry staff to plan and execute cohesive messaging and storytelling for church-wide initiatives, outreach efforts, and events.
  6. Lead creative projects from concept to completion: ideating, planning, producing, editing, and delivering materials that support the mission of OWCC.
  7. Expand OWCCs digital presence through video-first storytelling, social media reels, podcasts, and online engagement strategies that connect with both Christians and those outside of the church.
  8. Develop and multiply creative leaders who can lead projects and teams with skill, ownership, and spiritual maturity.
  9. Establish consistent visual design standards and maintain a cohesive brand identity across worship, events, print, web, and social platforms.
  10. Regularly evaluate creative ministry effectiveness through prayer, reflection, data, and feedback from staff and congregation.
  11. Model Christlike character and servant leadership, fostering a culture of prayer, humility, and joy in creative work.
  12. Manages and participates in the annual budget preparation to ensure adequate funds for the assigned area.
  13. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or other related creative field preferred; equivalent experience with documented creative portfolio and artistic development may substitute
  • Minimum three years of documented experience in creative arts direction, artistic program management, or similar analytical creative role with quantifiable achievements in creative program development, artistic quality improvement, and creative process optimization

Knowledge and Abilities:

  1. Strong storytelling instincts with ability to concept, script, film, edit, and distribute narrative-driven content across platforms.
  2. Vision-casting leadership, able to inspire volunteers, staff, and congregation toward bold creativity.
  3. Experience expanding digital ministry and engaging online audiences through emerging media platforms.
  4. Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, design platforms, and creative project management tools
  5. Strong foundation in design principles, color theory, typography, and visual communication strategies
  6. Technical expertise in photography and videography, including composition, camera operation, stage design, and real-time creative execution.
  7. Live production experience preferred including familiarity with live sound systems, stage design, and real-time creative execution
  8. Project management expertise with workflow development, timeline creation, and outcome measurement
  9. Contemporary worship arts knowledge with understanding of creative trends and evaluation methods
  10. Brand development and consistency management across multiple platforms and creative mediums
  11. Data-driven creative decision making using evidence-based artistic direction and measurable impact assessment
  12. Research and trend analysis skills for implementing innovative creative approaches and methodologies
  13. Communication and reporting skills for comprehensive analysis, creative assessment, and evidence-based recommendations

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Periodic lifting/carrying of items weighing up to 50 pounds; required visual acuity, speech, and hearing; manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination essential for operating a computer keyboard and basic office equipment. Tasks may involve sitting, standing, reaching, walking, twisting, and kneeling to fulfill essential functions. Work primarily takes place within an indoor office environment.
