The Retreat is about 3 – 4 hour drive from Lake Tahoe, 3 hours from Yosemite, and 3+ hours from most San Francisco Bay Area locations. Calaveras County is located in the heart of the Motherlode area of the 1849 Gold Rush with many historic places to go site seeing. The area also abounds with numerous award wining wineries that are open year round for wine tasting. In addition to the on-site amenities, you’ll have access Kline’s Fitness Center and Meadowmont Golf facilities. This includes tennis, golf, an outdoor pool, an all-sport court, and a well-equipped fitness center. A beach area can be found at White Pines Lake, three miles away. In winter, 30 miles northeast in Bear Valley, there is a choice of cross-country or downhill skiing.
