Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position requiring at least 2 years of experience and a NE or compact RN license.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

• Work in a 60-bed Med/Surg Telemetry unit in an acute care setting
• Primarily adult patients with occasional pediatrics (1-5 pediatric cases per year)
• Common patient diagnoses include post-surgical, diabetes, heart failure, hypertension, weakness, and cancer
• Patient ratio is 5:1
• Shift is 12-hour nights, with every other weekend required
• Floating required to 6E, acute rehab unit, and geriatric psych unit
• Epic EMR is used in this unit
• Alaris IV pumps are utilized
• Trauma Level 2 environment
• Navy scrubs are required
• Must pass an open-book exam on orientation with 90% or higher; failure results in contract termination
• Provision of care to a diverse patient population, including African American and Korean-speaking communities
• Artificial nails are not permitted in patient care areas
• Every other weekend work required
• Float assignments are mandatory within specified units
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from the last 12 months, and one peer or supervisor from the last 3 years
• COVID vaccination status must be provided
• Testing or skills validation may be required as part of onboarding

\n \n Requirements\n

• Active NE or compact RN license in hand
• Minimum of 2 years Med/Surg or Telemetry nursing experience required
• Current BLS certification required
• Experience with Epic EMR and Alaris IV pumps preferred
• Ability to float to designated units as needed
• Driver's license required for address verification and eligibility
• Must reside at least 50 miles from facility; local candidates are not eligible
• Candidates cannot have been employed by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility within the past year
• Permanent address required for compliance
• Good attitude, positive mindset, and ability to work as a team player
