Job Details

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate lawsuits to gather all relevant information and devise legal strategies for defense
• Identify potential risks to policyholders or the company
• Create and execute a suitable plan for collecting evidence and file necessary motions
• Get ready for and attend all court proceedings related to cases, including trials and arbitrations
• Regularly communicate with policyholders and claims representatives about case progress
• Prepare and present legal opinions on claims matters
• Participate in negotiation and settlement discussions with external parties

Requirements:

• Hold a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
• Member of the CA bar
• At least 1 year of insurance defense litigation
• Must have insurance defense experience, ideally automobile, personal injury, and premises liability
• Demonstrated ability to handle a demanding workload and prioritize tasks
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision on a daily basis
