Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A full-time Special Education Teacher position is available at an elementary school located in Chimayo, NM. This role supports students in Kindergarten through 5th grade across two classrooms, focusing primarily on students with Autism and other health impairments. The contract runs for the current school year (CSY) through extended school year (ESY), with a workweek from Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction and support for students with disabilities in K2 and grades 25 classrooms.
• Manage and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to student needs.
• Collaborate with classroom staff, therapists, and families to promote student growth and development.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and participate in team meetings.
• Provide a safe and inclusive classroom environment that encourages learning and engagement.

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid New Mexico Special Education certification.
• Experience working with students diagnosed with Autism, preferred.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Ability to work on-site full time, adhering to the set school schedule.
• Commitment to supporting diverse learners in an elementary school setting.

Location and Schedule:

• Position is based in Chimayo, NM.
• Full-time hours: Monday through Thursday, 7:40 AM 3:05 PM; Friday, 7:40 AM 3:45 PM.
