Summary:

The Sr Data Engineer is responsible for design, development and support of data warehousing and data management environment supporting various business units. Provides mentorship and support to other junior team members and contract data engineers.

Essential functions:

• Develop automated data pipelines and data stores in Snowflake: including designing, implementing, testing, debugging, and deploying
• Build metadata driven solutions that are reusable and highly configurable
• Develop complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and scripts for data manipulation and retrieval.
• Optimize Snowflake performance through effective data modeling, partitioning, and indexing strategies.
• Collaborate with data analysts, PowerBI Report Developers and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver precise reporting and analytical solutions.
• Ensure data integrity and security within the Snowflake environment, complying with industry regulations and standards.
• Work on an agile team to quickly iterate and release solutions.
• Provide technical expertise and support for Snowflake to internal teams, including troubleshooting and resolving issues.
• Stay up to date with Snowflake features and updates, continuously improving and expanding our data warehouse capabilities.
• Develop and maintain documentation for Snowflake processes, systems, and procedures.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Proven 8+ years of experience in data warehousing / data lake design, development & support with last 3 years in Snowflake and Azure Data Factory
• Strong expertise in Strong SQL and SQL query optimization skills
• Strong knowledge of data warehousing concepts, medallion architecture and best practices.
• Familiarity with Snowflake's architecture, features, and best practices.
• Experience with data modeling, ETL development, and data integration techniques.
• Experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF), Data Bricks and other Azure services.
• Knowledge of life sciences industry requirements, regulatory requirements, and data security protocols.
• Proficiency in Python & Snowpark for data processing and automation.
• Experience working with confluence, JIRA & Github
• Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Experience with Pharmaceutical, Lifesciences and / or Manufacturing Industries.
• Familiarity with other data integration tools and BI platforms.
• Knowledge and Working experience of AI/ML
• Relevant certifications such as Snowflake Snowpro Core Certification
• Goal oriented, with excellent time management and organizational skills
• Excellent verbal & written communication skills
