Scientist

The Department of Oncology Research at Amgen, Thousand Oaks is seeking a highly motivated Scientist to contribute to the discovery and validation of novel oncology targets with the goal of supporting the development of Amgen's next generation of innovative small-molecule therapeutics. In this vital role you will be an integral member of a dynamic research team, with an opportunity to work collaboratively with cross functional teams within Amgen's Discovery Research organization.
The successful candidate is expected to make major scientific laboratory-based contributions to the group goals, present their results in both internal and external forums, and contribute data and participate in the writing of manuscripts for publication. Specific responsibilities include independently planning and performing laboratory experiments, analyzing data, and communicating results in team meetings. Assay development and routine screening of early- stage drug development candidates may be required. This is an on-site position which will entail primarily laboratory-based work.

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
