Job Summary:

As a Roofing Journeyman, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining various types of roofing systems in compliance with industry standards and local building codes. You will work under the guidance of a Roofing Foreman and collaborate with a team of skilled roofers to ensure the successful completion of projects.

Responsibilities:

• Install, repair, and maintain different types of roofing systems, including shingle, tile, metal, and flat roofs.

• Assess roofing structures and identify any issues, such as leaks, damages, or structural weaknesses.

• Remove old roofing materials and prepare surfaces for the installation of new roofing materials.

• Install insulation and vapor barriers as necessary.

• Safely operate and maintain various roofing tools and equipment.

• Adhere to safety protocols and follow industry best practices to minimize risks and accidents.

• Ensure compliance with local building codes and regulations.

• Collaborate with the roofing team to complete projects within the scheduled time frame.

• Provide guidance and support to apprentices and less experienced team members.

• Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and clients regarding project progress and requirements.

• Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring that materials and tools are properly stored.

Requirements:

• Proven expertise in installing and repairing various roofing systems.

• In-depth knowledge of roofing materials, tools, and techniques.

• Familiarity with local building codes and regulations related to roofing.

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Physical stamina and ability to work at heights, lift heavy objects, and perform repetitive tasks.

• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.

• Demonstrated commitment to safety practices and protocols.

Preferred Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Valid Hawaii driver's license and reliable transportation.

Working Conditions:

• This position involves outdoor work in various weather conditions, including heat, rain, and wind.

• May require working at heights and in confined spaces.

• Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory.
