At Raytheon, the foundation of everything we do is rooted in our values and a higher calling - to help our nation and allies defend freedoms and deter aggression. We bring the strength of more than 100 years of experience and renowned engineering expertise to meet the needs of today's mission and stay ahead of tomorrow's threat. Our team solves tough, meaningful problems that create a safer, more secure world.

We are currently hiring a Radio Frequency (RF) / Electrical (EE)-focused Responsible Systems Engineer (RSE) supporting RF systems to join the Effectors Systems Design & Architecture (SDA) organization located in Tucson, AZ.

As Systems Engineer, you will be expected to gain in-depth knowledge of an RF and/or Electrical, and/or signal processing focused subsystem. This position is focused on RF requirements development and decomposition. You will be expected to take higher level systems requirements and be able to decompose and allocate them into specific requirements for RF subsystem performance that our team can design and test to. You will collaborate with other Engineering disciplines to help define the requirements, interfaces, subsystem behavior, and how the subsystem will integrate into the overall system and architecture. Additionally you will perform requirements flow down and allocation to subsystems as well as develop the requirements traceability verification matrix. Depending on your level experience, you will also have the opportunity to guide and mentor other team members and take partial ownership for the overall Effector system level and subsystem level requirements baseline. Our RSEs work both in the office and spend hands-on time with the hardware during design, integration and design verification testing at multiple levels from subsystem design to system level flight testing.

SDA is an exciting and challenging environment where you will have the opportunity to design, develop and partner with multi-disciplines to shape innovative solutions for our customers. Join our organization and experience the Systems V engineering life cycle while interfacing with a variety of engineering disciplines, subject matter experts, chief engineers, chief technologists, the customer and so much more to ensure we design, integrate, and strengthen our systems to work the first time and every time for our warfighters!

What You Will Do

Develop and maintain RF and EE-related system and subsystem level requirements and interface specifications with a high level of focus on decomposing and allocating higher level systems requirements into RF subsystem requirements

Provide SE technical expertise in RF / EE integration, verification and validation, troubleshooting and failure investigations

Lead technical discussions, and formulate plans of action by leveraging company Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) across multiple engineering disciplines

    • Electronics (RF circuit card assemblies, subassemblies, complete systems) requirements, integration, and verification

    • Configurable Logic / Firmware / VHDL architecture, design, development, integration, and verification related to RF subsystems

  • Experience performing requirements definition, decomposition, and changes

  • Experience capturing system requirements and maintaining system requirements

  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Understanding of and experience across the Systems Engineering Product Development Cycle

  • Ability to perform trade studies to optimize system performance

  • Experience evaluating and mitigating technical risks

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills including experience giving technical briefs or presentations

  • Work experience in a challenging fast paced environment
