Job Description

The City of Rossford Police Department is accepting applications for lateral officers with at least one year of full-time service as a police officer. Lateral hire wages: 1-year previous full-time service ($36.90), 2 years previous full-time service ($38.96), 3 years full-time service ($41.01). There is also a .50 cent shift differential for afternoon and midnight shifts, as well as for a proficiency in a foreign language. Benefits package to include health, dental, and vision with paid deductible.

The Rossford Police Department offers many different special assignments available to patrol officers including, Special Response Team, Detective, School Resource Officers, Criminal Interdiction, UAS pilots, and Bicycle Patrol.

Requirements for the position are:

Must be a U.S. Citizen and possess a valid Ohio driver's license at the time of appointment.

Current State of Ohio OPOTA certificate.

Minimum of one-year full-time service as a police officer.

Successful completion of an extensive background investigation.

Oral interview board.

Pre-employment drug, psychological and physical testing.
