Plumbing Mechanic / Service Technician

About Behlen Plumbing and Heating: Behlen Plumbing and Heating is seeking a dedicated and experienced Plumbing Mechanic to join our team in the Commack, New York area. We are looking for an autonomous professional who thrives on working independently, delivers excellent customer service, and takes pride in high-quality residential and commercial plumbing work.

Job Summary

This is a full-time, year-round, hands-on position responsible for providing maintenance, installation, and repair services to both our residential and commercial clients throughout the Commack, NY area . This role requires strong technical ability, diagnostic excellence, and a high degree of professionalism.

Core Responsibilities & Technical Skills

• Service & Repair: Execute repair and maintenance tasks, demonstrating proven experience in residential and/or commercial plumbing systems.
• Installation: Start and complete installation of various plumbing products and systems.
• Troubleshooting: Possess excellent trouble-shooting and analytical skills to quickly and accurately diagnose and resolve critical issues.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records and documentation of work performed.
• Customer Interaction: Interact professionally with customers, demonstrating strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

Schedule & Environment

• Work Schedule: Full-time, year-round.
• Overtime: Must be willing and able to work occasional overtime and weekend work as needed.
• Autonomy: This role is ideal for a highly autonomous/independent individual who can work with little direction and manage their stress and time effectively.
• Equipment: Qualified candidates should have their own personal hand tools (specific company tools will be provided).
• Work Location: Work Remotely: No.

Requirements & Screening

• Experience: At least 5 years of proven experience in Residential and/or Commercial Plumbing.
• Licensure: Must have a clean Driver’s License .
• Skills: Must possess mechanical and technical skills, strong collaborative and problem-solving abilities, and a reliable work ethic.
• Physical Demands: Requires physical stamina and strength.
• Screening: Must pass a Criminal Background Check and Drug Test .
