Job Summary

The Department of Pediatrics at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time Physician Assistant 1, Pediatric Critical Care Unit. the successful candidate will:

• Be responsible for providing patient care to children admitted to the Pediatric Critical Care Unit (PICU), NS43.
• Perform admission history and physical exam on all patients.
• Follow all assigned patients in the PICU and recognize both gross and subtle clinical changes.
• Choose appropriate tests and procedures (L.P., starting IV, blood drawing, etc.).
• Maintain currency and closure of medical records.
• Provide patient care duties, as assigned.
• Perform operational duties, as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• New York State Physician Assistant Licensure.
• Physician Assistant Certificate.
• 1+ year of experience caring for hospitalized patients.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree preferred.

Salary Range

Commensurate with experience and qualifications
