Overview

Payroll Specialist Hybrid (Deerfield, IL) at CFS . Compensation: $55,000$60,000 + Bonus. Schedule: Hybrid (1 day from home every other week + remote option during snow days). Payroll Specialist Hybrid (Deerfield, IL)

Position Overview

The Payroll Specialist will play a key role in ensuring timely, accurate payroll processing for approximately 7,500 employees (85% hourly and 15% salaried) across nearly 100 locations nationwide. Each Payroll Specialist manages payroll for 2025 properties and partners closely with HR, Finance, and management teams. This position requires strong attention to detail, great communication skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities

• Process bi-weekly payroll for multiple states using the UKG payroll system
• Maintain accurate employee records, including new hires, terminations, and pay changes
• Review and audit electronic timekeeping for compliance and accuracy
• Collaborate with managers, HR, and Finance to resolve payroll discrepancies and inquiries
• Process garnishments, levies, and other payroll-related adjustments in a timely manner
• Verify benefit deductions and changes with the Benefits Administrator
• Review system audit reports before each payroll transmission to ensure accuracy
• Manage tax inquiries and coordinate with UKGs tax administration service
• Support internal and external payroll audits and assist with process improvements
• Uphold data security and confidentiality in all payroll operations

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of payroll processing experience, preferably multi-state
• Experience with UKG or similar payroll software systems
• Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent accuracy, organization, and communication skills
• CPP or FPC certification a plus but not required
