Minimum 1+ years Paraprofessional or Special Education experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

An opportunity is available for a dedicated paraprofessional to support an Early Childhood Program at an elementary school in the Aurora, IL area. This contract position runs for a full semester and involves working closely with young learners to foster their educational development using specialized skills, including sign language.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist classroom teachers in implementing educational activities and lesson plans
  • Support students with diverse learning needs, particularly within an early childhood setting
  • Utilize sign language to enhance communication and engagement with students
  • Collaborate with educators and support staff to create a positive, inclusive learning environment
  • Monitor student progress and report updates as needed

Qualifications:

  • Paraprofessional License required
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred, or completion of at least 60 credit hours
  • Knowledge and experience in sign language essential
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively support students and staff
  • Ability to work Monday through Thursday, from 8:45 a.m. to noon, totaling approximately 13 hours weekly
