Paraprofessional / Behavior Interventionist

Paraprofessional / Behavior Interventionist Schedule:

• M-F regular school hours

Paraprofessional / Behavior Interventionist Salary:

• $16-$22/hr.

Paraprofessional / Behavior Interventionist Job Description:

• Support students in achieving academic success, including those who may display disruptive behavior, with a focus on behavior management and physical intervention if necessary (training provided upon hire).
• Helps students when needed with their clothing, snack time routines, and, when required, toileting activities, not limited to but including, prompting, self-toileting and diapering, all ages.
• Monitor student behavior during classroom sessions, providing redirection and support for students needing remediation or intervention.
• Aid in student assessment by collecting data and sharing observations with teachers.
• Facilitate safe transitions of students between locations within the school under the guidance of administrators and staff.
• Maintain proactive communication with teachers regarding student issues and parental conversations.
• Supervise student movement within the school environment, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
• Demonstrate prompt, regular attendance in person and be available to work on-site during regular business hours.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by appropriate administrators or their representatives.
• Must be physically able to restrain students, when appropriate, in compliance with accepted district or school procedures. Must be physically able to lift, or assist in lifting, non-ambulatory students.

Paraprofessional / Behavior Interventionist Requirements:

• Degree preferred, but not needed
• CPI training (provided by RCM, if not currently certified)
