Job Description As an MEP Cost Estimator, you will play a key role in preparing accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for federal-sector projects. You will collaborate with project teams to provide conceptual, schematic, design development, and construction-level estimates, ensuring cost efficiency and compliance with federal standards.
The MEP Construction Estimator - Federal Projects - REMOTE will:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems
- Develop conceptual, schematic, and construction-level estimates using UNIFORMAT and CSI divisions
- Perform accurate quantity takeoffs and pricing using RSMeans and other cost databases
- Prepare change order estimates and market research studies for cost analysis
- Track and compare planned vs. actual costs, recommending corrective actions as needed
- Develop RFIs and clarifications to ensure adequate subcontractor coverage
- Provide Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) estimates during planning phases
- Collaborate with internal teams and clients to ensure timely and accurate deliverable

The Successful Applicant The MEP Construction Estimator - Federal Projects - REMOTE will have:
- 5+ years of MEP estimation experience across mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection
- Background in consulting or cost advisory (not contractor/GC only)
- Proficiency in federal-sector standards (UNIFORMAT) and software such as MII, Success Estimator, RSMeans
- Strong skills in On-Screen Takeoff (OST) and Microsoft Office Suite
- ASPE or AACEI certification preferred
- Ability to pass HSPD-12 background check
- Excellent communication and analytical skills; able to work independently from day one
