Job Description

Digestive Disease Consultants is a busy gastroenterology practice located in Altamonte Springs with satellite locations in Lake Mary and Oviedo. We are seeking a dynamic, organized, and professional medical receptionist to join our team. 

Position Requirements:

• Excellent customer service skills with patients, employees, and the public.
• Good organizational skills.
• Multitask with accuracy and efficiency.
• Float to our Altamonte, Lake Mary, and Oviedo locations.
• Minimum of one year of medical receptionist experience required. 
• Knowledge of ECW and Phreesia is preferred but not required.
• Basic computer knowledge of Windows and Outlook. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Greet patients as they arrive to our office.
• Obtain and verify patient demographic and insurance information.
• Scanning patient information into our EMR.
• Collecting patient copay, deductible and coinsurances.
• Scheduling follow-up appointments.
• Calling to confirm/reschedule upcoming appointments.
• Help maintain the cleanliness of the front desk and waiting area.
• Assist with the faxes and forwarding information to the proper employee/provider.
• Other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
• Ability to view a computer screen for extended periods of time.
• Ability to perform repetitive hand and wrist motions for extended periods of time.
• Ability to converse and hear over the phone and in person in a professional manner.

Work Conditions:

• Work is performed in an office work environment.
• Very limited physical effort is required.
• Limited exposure to physical risk.
