Heavy Haul Project Manager

Job Summary:

The Heavy Haul Project Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating heavy haul transportation projects to ensure on-time, safe, and efficient deliveries. This role involves managing daily operations, dispatching, tracking shipments, and addressing any exceptions to maintain service excellence. The position requires strong communication with internal teams, carriers, and customers to optimize logistics solutions and uphold quality standards. This role reports to the Director of Heavy Haul.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and manage heavy haul projects, ensuring capacity and resources align with customer needs.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to meet transportation requirements.
• Supervise dispatch operations, workflow, and employee productivity.
• Develop shipment plans and negotiate rates with transportation providers.
• Monitor shipments from pickup to delivery, providing real-time updates and problem resolution.
• Maintain strong relationships with carriers to ensure service reliability and capacity.
• Use transportation management systems to track and update shipment details.
• Prioritize and resolve service challenges to maintain efficiency and customer satisfaction.
• Participate in team meetings and maintain consistent communication across departments.
• Perform additional duties as required.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Strong customer service background in logistics, including quoting and pricing.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and multi-state transportation logistics.
• Proficiency in AS400, Monday Software, Fleetup, and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and multitasking skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a high level of attention to detail.

Education & Experience:

• Bachelors Degree in Logistics or related field, preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in dispatch operations, with direct driver coordination.
• Experience with heavy haul transportation, including over-dimensional shipments and permitting, is highly preferred.
