LSF is looking for a talented Life Skills Coach  who wants to make an impact in the lives of others.

Purpose and Impact:

Assist in the coordination of direct services for youth most at-risk who are in residential and aftercare services at facility. Responsible for the planning, implementing, monitoring and facilitating of an Aftercare Youth Support Group for program youth. This is a direct care position.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop and prepare weekly group plans and activities for youth in residential services at the facility.
  • Facilitate Aftercare Youth Support Group for youth to connect youth with educational, career, job, social, relational, other life skills and community resources.
  • Work with the Outreach Coordinator, as part of the Street Outreach Team, to connect with and provide services to runaway, homeless and street youth out in the community.
  • Monitor and maintain all requested and required documentation.
  • Work with staff and counselors to ensure communication regarding youth, is maintained and maximum benefits to youth are achieved.
  • Interact with respective school district personnel and community partners to maintain communication regarding the coordination of services for youth in the Aftercare Youth Support Group.
  • Participate in discharge and service planning with youth and parents.
  • Work with volunteers to insure appropriate mentoring and tutoring.
  • Enforce all program and agency rules, policies and provisions.
  • Perform such other duties as may be assigned.

Physical Requirements:

Must have a high level of energy, be adaptable to irregular hours and must be flexible.

Education:

High school diploma required. Post-secondary education preferred.

Experience:

Minimum of one year experience working with at-risk youth 10-17 years of age.

Skills:

  • Must have good organizational, verbal and written skills.
  • Dependability, discretion and good judgment are essential.
  • Must have computer skills, must be capable of establishing and maintaining effective relationships with clients.
  • Life skills training preferred.

Other:

Must demonstrate sensitivity to our service populations’ cultural and socio-economic characteristics and needs

Principle Accountabilities:

  • Reports to the Manager
  • Team player with co-workers, administrators, and community partners.
  • Accurate, complete, and timely submission of required reports.
  • Innovative and cost-effective provision of educational program.
  • Delivery of appropriate life skills and academic studies.
  • Adherence to agency policy and procedures.
