Job Purpose

Proactively coordinate import and export activities across all business units and functions in North America to include custom clearance and import/export forwarder management.  Will work with internal stakeholders in alignment with international shipping requirements.  Will serve as the liasion between the business and freight forwarders.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide excellent level of customer service.  Will communication with origin offices, shippers and customers via e-mail and telephone.
• Manage Air or Ocean documents and processes per client requirements.
• Maintain files, ensuring that costs and billing are in compliance with policies and procedures.  Must be able to negotiate rates.
• Maintain daily tracking, providing status update to customers.  Will ensure accuracy and timely data entry.
• Manage containers and single shipments from various regions.
• Perform, understand, and communicate detailed information analysis and evaluation.
• Manage conflicting business interests.  Must be able to understand and resolve barriers.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Logistics or related field.
• 2 years' experience in International Freight Forwarding to include Air and Ocean shipping procedures.
• Broad understanding of import and export processes in chemical manufacturing.  Must be knowledgeable of customs clearance.
• Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and external agencies.
• Proficient organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines.  Must be detail-oriented.
• Effective decision-making skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.  Strong knowledge of operational systems (FCL, LCL, Airfreight) required.
