Knowledge, skills, education, and/or experience: 7 years of professional experience with geographic systems, including computer graphics and computer hardware digitizing procedures or Bachelor's Degree + three years of the aforementioned experience or Master's Degree in Geography or Environmental Science with 2 years of the aforementioned experience or Bachelor's degree in Geography or Environmental Science with 12 semester credits in computer mapping/GIS which shall have included spatial programming and digital image processing plus 2 years of the aforementioned experience. 5. Mandatory skills/certification(s) Requirement: Ability to conduct and/or coordinate study, design, data acquisition, data reformatting and application of GIS and image processing software for application to agency specific projects or activities; ability to perform integrated satellite acquired data with the GIS for analysis of spatial distribution present in the environment and display results as computer-generated maps. Ability to use Model Builder. 6. Desired skills: Proficiency in GIS; ability to work independently and accurately; ability to trouble shoot critical problems under supervision. 7. Job Duties Design, develop, coordinate and conduct computerized geographic information system work relating to the geographic analysis of environmental parameters and/or other factors, image processing, interpretation and application of remote sensing data and mathematical cartography research. 8.
