Job Summary: The Foodbank Operations Assistant plays a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of the Cleveland Chesed Center's foodbank. This position is responsible for receiving and offloading deliveries, organizing and rotating food and household supplies, pantry stocking, and keeping the storage areas clean and orderly. Working closely with the support staff and Program Coordinator, the Foodbank Operations Assistant helps facilitate daily logistics that allow the Cleveland Chesed Center to provide essential items to local Jewish community families with dignity and care. Duties and Responsibilities: Oversees inventory movement.Supports the Program Coordinator in the execution of auxiliary programs.Offloads items from the delivery trucks using a forklift, dollies and/or carrying. Organizes pallets in the freezer, fridge, and storage rooms.Responsible for periodic inventory countsKeeps pallets organized so that first in-first out inventory cycle is maintained.Responsible for inventory-related activities including, but not limited to, stocking shelves, labeling products, and rotating inventory monthly.Keeps the program coordinator abreast of stock that is running low, periodic inventory counts, and reconciliation.Helps to clean and organize the Cleveland Chesed Center ahead of volunteer events and tours.Serves as the first substitute for all open hours when staffing is short.Additional duties as assigned.
