Description


Position purpose

To support Vaughn's flight degree programs by offering simulator instruction in support and under guidance of lab instructors in private and instrument areas.

Major Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks
  • Certify each student's training record for tasks required for lab course completion are met
  • Work with simulator lab manager to make sure that proper coursework is covered
  • Ensure that each student accomplishes the required curriculum content for the school's approved training course
  • Report simulator discrepancies immediately to sim lab manger and fill out discrepancy reports
  • Train new staff on use of simulators
  • Maintain training techniques, procedures and standards for the school that are acceptable to the VP of Training in regards to flight training programs

Education and/or Experience Requirements
  • FAA Commercial certificate required. FAA, CFI, CFII certificate and current/previous enrollment in a certified flight instructor class preferred
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • No more than 1 FAA failed checked ride allowed.
Professional Skills
  • Ability to communicate technical matter to students, Flight experience to MEII a plus.
Reasoning Ability
  • Ability to work with instructors, students and college administration to meet the standard academic requirements for course completion of all air traffic control component classes (FLT110, ATC200, ATC240 and all lab components).
Work environment and physical functions
  • The position is located in a laboratory environment. Generally, an employee needs to be able to sit, stand and navigate within the office area. The lab equipment either individually used or shared with a department is the responsibility of all employees.

Salary
The entry-level compensation rate for this position is expected to be between $18 - $22 per hour.
