Job Description Location: Seattle, WA Duration: 1Year Responsibilities: Field Work: Conduct pre-construction site surveys to verify cable routing, identify any obstacles that may result in additional construction costs, and take field measurements. Assist in the creation of splice plans, test plans, and other documentation items as directed by the project manager. Monitor fiber optic plant construction activities to ensure products are being installed within customer guidelines and manufacturer standard recommended procedures. Conduct weekly safety audits to ensure all contractors are working within client and OSHA safety guidelines Provide daily reports to the project manager outlining construction progress on all installations located in the assigned area of responsibility. Troubleshoot potential warranty issues using client provided equipment such as Optical Time Domain Reflectometers (OTDR), Visual Fault Locators (VFL), and Optical Test Sets. Other Duties: Visit customers on a weekly basis to ensure customer satisfaction and discuss any new projects being planned. Conduct inventory activities, as requested, of client owned construction materials located at contractor controlled yards. Required Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent Working knowledge of fiber optic testing procedures Working knowledge of spreadsheets, word processing software, and email applications Desired Qualifications: Knowledge of building splice plans. Knowledge/experience with field/site walk-outs. Hands-on experience splicing and testing fiber optic networks Ability to speak Spanish or other languages is a plus.
