Job Description:
Our client is a provider of vehicle financing and full-service fleet management solutions throughout North America, including the United States, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean. Due to growth, they are seeking a Desk Review Appraiser to join their team. The Desk Review Appraiser will investigate claims against insurance or other companies and individuals for property loss or damages and settle with claimants. This position is onsite in Illinois.

• Set up initial loss notices with driver and provide instruction.
• Coordinate short-term car rental arrangements for accident claims.
• Ensure proper claim file documentation and reporting.
• Determine repair time allotments and required labor operations.
• Make accurate repair or replace decisions.
• Assess pre-existing damage and complete accurate total loss evaluations.
• Negotiate agreed prices with shops and set time-bound expected completion dates per company standards.
• Review and assess the validity of all supplemental requests.
• Provide customers with information regarding their vehicle’s cost of repair estimates and explain the claims and repair process.
• Negotiate advanced fees for tows, tear-downs and storage on all vehicles that are determined to be a financial total loss at a repair facility or tow yard.
• Document cost savings from point-of-sale negotiation and invoice auditing.
• Provide exceptional customer service to all parties involved in the claims process.

Requirements:

• Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent work experience
• Experience using auto estimating software
• Industry designations or technical certifications (preferred), such as I-CAR
• Prior automotive, fleet leasing and insurance claims experience
• 1-2 years of customer service experience
• Knowledge and understanding of auto body repair techniques, terminology and vehicle construction
• Word processing and spreadsheet experience
