Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for the development, implementation, management, and teaching of National Career College curriculum.
Provide all classroom/laboratory instruction and will be responsible for training site acquisition, student placement, and supervision.
Teach according to the module start and end schedule and the time allotted for each subject set forth by National Career College.
Distribute a copy of each course syllabus to students on the first day of class and explain.
Teaches the depth and scope of class materials as outlined in the syllabus and catalog and relates the instruction to careers and employer expectations.
Provide students with a full understanding of the course material as listed on course syllabus.
Follow lesson plan and manage classroom time to maintain daily schedule.
Comply with administrative, accreditation and regulatory requirements for student records, and material requisitions.
Grade tests in a timely manner and submit records accordingly for timely posting.
Works creatively in all classes taught to discourage student withdrawal and maintain satisfactory retention.
Evaluate student progress and performance as per the policy and procedures set forth by National Career College.
Place students on academic and/or conduct probation as necessary and according to policy.
Calls all students who are absent and submits written reports of pertinent information to the Program Director.
Take and report accurate daily attendance.
Initiate basic counseling to students who may have attendance and /or academic issues. Channel students who do not respond to initial counseling to the appropriate members of administration.
Find and utilize guest speakers as necessary.
Plan field trips where necessary and as required by the syllabus.
Participate in professional growth activities, attend in-service seminars, remain current in instructional field, review curriculum, and work with other instructors on academic projects when necessary.
Maintain necessary Continuing Education Units and provide up-to-date information to students.
Attend faculty meetings and other meetings as shall be required by Education Director.
Leaves the classroom or laboratory clean, organized, and ready for the next user.
Ensure classroom and laboratory supplies are adequate.
Qualifications and Skills:
High School Diploma.
Must hold a valid, active, current license as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA).
A minimum of three (3) years of dental assisting experience with at least two (2) years as a California Registered Dental Assistant (RDA).
Two-hour Teaching Methodology Certificate in Radiology Safety, Infection Control, Coronal Polish, and Sealants
Active CPR card
Strong interpersonal, communication, and computer skills required
Detail oriented and well-organized
Problem Solving skills
Positive attitude
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
