has an opportunity for a
Corporate Communications Manager
aligned with Sustainability, Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S), R&D and Legal. In this role, you are responsible for partnering across these functional areas to provide global communications counsel and support. You will require conceptual and working knowledge of their disciplines and must have the ability to apply innovative communication techniques to help advance their strategies and initiatives.
Through strategic communications plans, you will develop a variety of internal and external communications focused on engaging and motivating audiences, deepening stakeholder relationships, and enhancing Dow's brand value and reputation. It is your responsibility to analyze and resolve complex opportunities, examine information from multiple sources, and use judgement to evaluate established and new communication initiatives. You should also be able to explain difficult or sensitive information, follow established guidelines, and work to build consensus with others.
This position is part of the Global Functional Communications team and will take operational direction from the Corporate Communications Advisor for Sustainability, Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S), R&D and Legal.
This is an individual contributor role and can be located in Midland, MI, Houston, TX, Freeport, TX, Collegeville, PA or Plaquemine, LA.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement multi-channel and integrated communications strategies aligned with key functional areas, such as the Office of Ethics and Compliance, Innovation & Sustainability Awards, and Health & Wellness, among others.
Create content in support of communication plans and initiatives that engage target audiences and drive towards strategic objectives.
Assist with senior-level global communications for targeted internal and external stakeholders, including strategy and implementation.
Evaluate and guide communications programs that are supported and implemented from within functional areas.
Support strategic Company events and initiatives, providing input and developing communications for matters aligned to your functional areas.
Coordinate and consult across the Global Public Affairs function to ensure alignment with business and geographic efforts, as well as other functional areas.
Act as a steward of Dow's brand standards and legal best practices, through adherence and advocacy to ensure consistency throughout all communications.
Qualifications
A minimum of a bachelor's degree or relevant military experience at or above a U.S. E6 or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class or Sergeant ranking.
A minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience.
Expertise in English writing and speaking.
Ability to travel as needed, both domestically and internationally, including frequent travel to Midland.
A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
Preferred Skills

- Strong written communication and speaking skills.
Crisis Communication Management
- Experience in issues management and crisis communications in a multi-national organization, preferably in the materials sector.
Sustainability
- Ability to create sustainability and/or product and innovation related content; Understanding of communication sensitives related to sustainability and intellectual property.
Strategic Communication Planning
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically, while also working tactically.
Interdisciplinary Collaboration
- Ability to collaborate with wide variety of colleagues and partners - including C-suite level - and influence positions on issues.
Resilience Under Pressure
- Ability to work with a diverse set of stakeholder groups simultaneously along with the skills to manage multiple and competing projects - prioritizing work, managing expectations and delivering on-time.
Global Communication
- Clear understanding of B-to-B communications and demonstrated aptitude for communicating with global and diverse stakeholder groups.
