Job Details We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Controller to join our finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of financial tasks critical to the smooth operation of our company.
Responsibilities Include:
- Compile and analyze financial information to prepare monthly financial statements including balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement.
- Completion of Monthly General Ledger Reconciliations:
- Reconcile and maintain the general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Utilize the Percent of Completion (POC) method to manage job cost accounting and ensure accurate revenue recognition.
- Assist in Preparation of Annual Budget and Forecasts:
- Collaborate with management to develop annual budgets and forecasts, providing financial insights and analysis.
- Maintain and update daily cash flow forecast to ensure liquidity needs are met.
- Prepare and distribute weekly status reports detailing financial performance metrics and key insights.
- Manage Accounts Payable and Weekly Check/ACH Processing:
- Oversee accounts payable functions including vendor management and timely processing of payments via check or ACH.
- Manage incoming payments and ensure accurate recording and reconciliation of accounts receivable transactions.
- Prepare and file sales and use tax returns in compliance with state regulations.
- Coordinate co-op advertising payments and prepare related financial reports as necessary.
- Handle debit/credit card transactions and maintain the petty cash fund, ensuring accurate records and reconciliation.
- Support payroll processing and administration as a backup to the Payroll Manager, utilizing Paycom software.
- Prepare and distribute IRS Form 1099-MISC and 1099-NEC to applicable vendors and file with the IRS as required.
- Supervise and provide guidance to front desk and accounts payable personnel, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to policies.
- Undertake additional projects and responsibilities as delegated by management, contributing to departmental and organizational goals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- CPA certification or MBA preferred.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in accounting or financial management (Accounting Manager, Assistant Controller or Controller level experience)
- Proficiency in accounting software (mention specific software if relevant) and MS Office Suite.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
