Overview Consumer Finance Equity Research Analyst (6-month Contract) – New York. Bloomberg Intelligence (BI) is a leading investment research platform with 500+ investment professionals, providing a comprehensive view of industries, their key constituents, and the Bloomberg Professional service integration for depth and breadth at sector, industry and company levels. As a member of our U.S.-based team, you’ll bridge existing equity research coverage of consumer finance companies, including credit card and consumer lenders, mortgage lenders and servicers, and the GSEs. You’ll produce company reports, thematic research, and timely event-driven analysis using Bloomberg’s data sets, BI data and analytics, and company calls and announcements to form actionable insights. Responsibilities Provide a bridge for existing equity research coverage of consumer finance companies, including credit card and consumer lenders, mortgage lenders and servicers, and the GSEs. Produce company reports, thematic research, and timely event-driven analysis. Leverage Bloomberg’s proprietary data sets, BI data and analytics, as well as company calls and announcements to form actionable insights. Work closely with regional and global team of analysts located in Asia, Europe and the U.S. Monitor and interpret major company developments and identify macro themes and trends affecting these industries. Manage earnings cycle, including previews, reviews and maintaining earnings models fueled by live Bloomberg data. Collaborate with other research product teams, including Litigation, Policy, Credit and ESG for company-specific and thematic analysis. Interact with investors, industry contacts, investor relations personnel, and senior management at target companies. Work with Global Data teams to ensure data completeness and quality control for existing and new data sets of target companies. Build and manage relationships with internal departments and external market professionals to grow a franchise and develop an ecosystem. Qualifications 3-5 years experience in Equity Research, specializing in Financials companies in the U.S. Sell-side or buy-side Research Analysis experience preferred. Detailed knowledge of these specific aspects of the Financials sector in the U.S. Experience interpreting financial documents and performing quantitative financial analysis. Knowledge of advanced concepts, practices, and procedures of finance and accounting. Strong primary research and writing skills. Good verbal communication and presentation skills. Self-starter, entrepreneurial thinker and collaborative teammate. Strong organizational skills and capable of prioritising multiple projects. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Extra/Preferred CFA designation and/or MBA degree or equivalent experience, and/or graduate educational experience. Experience using Python and/or visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik Sense). Ability to harness generative AI or machine learning platforms. Salary Range = 75-85 USD hourly. The referenced salary range is based on the Company's good faith belief at the time of posting.
