Position Title: CNC Machinist
Wage: $21.00-$25.00 per hour
Shift: 1st; 2nd
Hours: 6:00am-4:30pm; 2:45pm - 01:30am (Mon-Thurs)
QPS Employment Group is looking for experienced machinists to run CNC mills and lathes in a clean, climate-controlled shop in St. Charles, MO. Monday–Thursday schedule, $21–$25/hr., full benefits, and steady work in a precision manufacturing environment. If you take pride in accuracy and craftsmanship, we want to talk!
CNC Machinist Responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Set up, load, operate and monitor CNC machines to maximize spindle utilization. Teal+1
- Unload completed parts, inspect them, perform deburring and blending where required.
- Monitor machine operation: identify worn or damaged cutting tools, machine malfunctions, and stop or escalate as needed. Read and interpret blueprints, measuring equipment (calipers, micrometers), basic dimensions and tolerances.
- Perform daily routine maintenance: maintaining fluid levels, clear chips, clean machine surfaces, remove coolant, dust and debris.
- Maintain a clean, safe, organized work area; adhere to safety guidelines, use PPE as required, report unsafe conditions.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives (lean manufacturing, 5S, workflow optimization) and meet production schedule targets.
- Communicate with co-workers, supervisors, and quality / inspection team regarding part quality, production status, and machine issues.
- Adhere to the company’s Quality Policy, Mission Statement, customer satisfaction, on-time delivery goals and company procedures.
CNC Machinist Requirements: - High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- At least 2 years of CNC machining experience or currently enrolled in a machining program at a technical college.
- Ability to read basic blueprints, use measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers).
- Strong attention to detail, ability to perform in a precision manufacturing environment.
- Willingness to work Monday through Thursday schedule (shift options available).
- Experience working in aerospace manufacturing environment (knowledge of aerospace standards a plus) preferred.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing, 5S, JIT production methods preferred.
- Ability to perform basic math and measurements relevant to machining tasks preferred.
- Proven ability to maintain machine set-up, tool changes, inspect parts for dimension/tolerance compliance preferred.
