Job Description

SUMMARY: Research Assistant to assist with a clinical research study. The aim of the study is to test the effect of a culturally centered treatment protocol, the Socio-cognitive behavioral therapy (SCBT), versus Treatment as Usual, on suicidal thoughts and attempts, and depressive symptoms, in a clinical sample of Latinx adolescents. The study is trying to determine whether taking into account perspectives of Latin immigrant families and minority youth will lead to better outcomes in this high-risk group. The core Success Factors include: Instill Trust and Value Differences Patient and Community Focus and Collaborate RESPONSIBILITIES: Interview participants and families to gather information and obtain informed consent; maintenance of study records and tracking of study participants. Data entry, reporting, and assistance with maintenance of database. Provide assistance with recruitment efforts. There are opportunities to participate in data analysis, submit poster presentations to conferences, and assist in preparation of manuscripts. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in psychology, behavioral sciences, or related field. Bilingual (Spanish &English) Minimum 1-2 years of research experience (preferably in a clinical research setting) with ethnic minority groups and/or the LGBTQ community. Courses in research methodologies, statistics, and multicultural perspective preferred. Experience with computer-based data entry and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Excellent organizational skills. Occasional evening and weekend work required for visits at participants home for follow up assessments.

Pay Range:

$40,725.05-$67,199.50
