About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead its mission of advancing legal and lived equality for LGBTQ+ families. The CEO will be responsible for the organization's strategic direction, financial management, and all aspects of daily operations, including fundraising, public relations, and program development. This role demands a dynamic, mission-driven executive with a proven track record in nonprofit leadership, policy, and advocacy. The successful candidate will be a visionary leader, adept at building and leading coalitions, and will work closely with the Board of Directors to ensure the organization's growth and impact. Essential functions include overseeing a comprehensive policy agenda, managing a diverse team, and fostering a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion. Candidates for the CEO position at the company should have a minimum of 7 years of senior leadership experience, with a preference for those with a background in nonprofit management. The role requires a deep commitment to LGBTQ+ issues, particularly in the areas of family policy and advocacy. The ideal CEO will be a strategic thinker, a strong fundraiser, and a collaborative leader with exceptional interpersonal skills. They must be prepared to be hands-on, close to the work, and accountable for outcomes. The role also involves maintaining relationships with government representatives, and media, with a focus on grassroots advocacy. A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required, and the candidate should be well-versed in the principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
