Job Description Purpose: The Biotechnology Lab Technician will perform research in the NanoBio Systems Laboratory, a multidisciplinary lab featured in microbiology research integrated with microfluidics (website:
The project will be highly interdisciplinary and fast-paced, having multiple collaborating labs in environmental microbiology, microbial pathogenesis, and bioinformatics. The candidate is expected to work closely with lab members including postdoctoral researchers and graduate students.
Responsibilities: - Perform microbiological experiments in the NanoBio Systems Laboratory.
- Work closely with postdoctoral researchers and graduate students in the laboratory.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What we need: - Bachelors degree in relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Two years of related experience
What is helpful: - Masters degree in microbiology or related fields.
- Extensive experience in microbiology skills such as isolation and cultivation of bacterial strains, growth phenotype examination, molecular biology skills such as nucleic acid or protein extraction, electroporation etc.
- Experience in handling cells (mammalian cells, microorganisms) in microsystems.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: - Strong expertise in microbiology and molecular biology disciplines.
- Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects.
