We are seeking a reliable and organized Assistant Property Accountant to join our on-site accounting department.

About the Role:

This is a full-time, in-person position at our Deerfield office. The Assistant Property Accountant will work closely with the Controller and accounting team to maintain accurate financial records, support monthly close processes, and contribute to the smooth financial operation of the firm.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain property-level general ledgers and post journal entries
• Perform regular bank and account reconciliations
• Process and track vendor invoices, payments, and expense allocations
• Assist with A/P and A/R functions
• Support the preparation of monthly financial reports and year-end audit materials
• Maintain organized and up-to-date digital and physical financial records
• Coordinate with internal property managers and external vendors to resolve accounting questions
• Provide day-to-day administrative support to the Controller and accounting team

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks
• Proficiency with Yardi is a plus
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Real estate or property management experience is a plus, but not required
