Under general supervision performs administrative and professional work of considerable difficulty in the development, implementation and management of Alternative Dispute Resolution and Conciliation Court programs; performs related work as assigned.
Typical Duties (Illustrative Only)
•Administers Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Program
•Oversees all functions of Conciliation Court
•Recruits, trains and supervises mediators
•Sets mediations
•Mediates various types of court cases
•Recruits and manages independent contractors for various functions of Conciliation Court
•Coordinates with local interest groups, agencies and professional organizations to create community awareness of programs
•Reviews case files for assignment to ADR program and makes recommendations to Superior Court judges and litigants
•Monitors and analyzes program activities and develops methods for improvement
•Develops and recommends policies and procedures to ensure compliance with court orders, Arizona Revised Statutes and the Arizona Rules of Court
•Maintains records and files appropriate to the program
•Prepares plans, grant requests, statistical and program progress reports
•Prepares annual budget recommendations
•Consults with judicial departments
•Serves as program authority or resource person to judges, court personnel, and members of the Administrative Offices of the Supreme Court
•Assists in coordinating Law Day
•Performs other duties as assigned
Essential functions of this position include but are not limited to: sitting; working with and around others; dealing with interruptions; repetitive motion (hand/wrist) for computer work; vision acuity (near-far) for routine office and customer service duties; color vision for reading maps; hearing and speech for ordinary conversation; finger dexterity for typing and paperwork. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business or Public Administration or a related field and three years of court, mediation or program experience relevant to the position; OR any combination of education, training and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
The
ideal candidate is someone that has 3-5 year experience in mediation or program management, preferably in a court setting. They should have knowledge of laws, court procedures, and case management, along with excellent communication and conflict resolution skills. Additionally, they should be adept at working with diverse parties and maintaining confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications include: Specialized certification or training in mediation. Program management experience. Experience in dispute resolution. Experience working within court systems or legal environments. Familiarity with state and federal laws governing mediation and conciliation court.
This position is exempt from overtime.
Note: Individuals in exempt classifications as part time employees may be classified as non-exempt per FLSA law regarding minimum weekly salary requirements.
