About the Role

We are seeking a highly detail-oriented Accounts Payable Associate / Accounting Assistant to join our accounting team. This role is key to ensuring the accurate and timely processing of company liabilities, maintaining strong vendor relationships, and supporting broader accounting operations. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, meticulous with details, and committed to upholding high security and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Accounts Payable: Accurately process and record the company's liabilities, ensuring all entries and payments are timely and properly assigned to the correct location.

• Documentation & Records: Maintain clear, complete records with proper supporting documentation for all transactions.

• Vendor & Credit Card Management: Manage the company's credit card program (with Controller oversight) and maintain vendor payment platforms.

• Compliance & Reporting: File sales tax returns and personal property statements.

• Cash Applications & Support: Assist Portfolio Accountants with applying cash receipts and performing light bookkeeping duties.

• Confidentiality & Controls: Adhere to best practices for handling sensitive information and be diligent with internal control.

• Teamwork: Build and maintain strong relationships with colleagues and business partners while supporting a culture of accountability and accuracy.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in accounts payable. Bookkeeping or AR experience preferred but not required.

• High attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Familiarity with vendor payment platforms and credit card program management a plus.

• Working knowledge of accounting principles and internal controls.

• Proficiency with accounting software and spreadsheets.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with integrity.

• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
