We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our finance team. Position Summary
The Staff Accountant will report directly to the Controller and will be responsible for daily accounting functions, including accounts payable (A/P) and accounts receivable (A/R). The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while contributing to the overall financial operations of the Club.
Key Responsibilities
- Process vendor invoices, expense reports, and company credit card statements; ensure accuracy and timely payments (A/P).
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
- Process member billing, send statements, and record/collect payments (A/R).
- Process monthly ACH and credit/debit card autopayments as scheduled and upon request.
- Reconcile and close daily point-of-sale transactions.
- Respond promptly and professionally to member, vendor, and staff inquiries.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records in multiple database systems.
- Prepare and record bank deposits; make bank runs as needed.
- Reconcile petty cash monthly and as needed.
- Assist with journal entries, bank reconciliations, and month-end closing procedures.
- Support the Controller with budget input, audits, and other financial reporting tasks.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and GAAP accounting standards.
- Provide general support to accounting operations, including filing, organization, and administrative tasks.
- Perform additional projects and duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
- 1–3 years of accounting experience is advantageous; motivated new graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and fundamental accounting principles.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel; experience with accounting software preferred.
- Clear and professional written and verbal communication.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
- Professionalism in handling confidential and sensitive information.
Schedule & Work Environment
- This position is full-time, in-person, Monday through Friday at Black Bull Golf Club in Bozeman, Montana.
