We celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary with family at the Ka’anapali Beach Club, Maui, Hawaii, June 2010.

The Ka’anapali Beach Club (KBC) was the perfect place for our celebration. Our accommodations were superb, the staff warm and friendly in the Hawaiian way and the grounds are spectacular. We had four wonderful units! Each of the three adult couples had their own condo and the six grandchildren shared a unit between their parents. The accommodations could not have been better! The pool area is first class and a local concessionaire offers scuba lessons and pool and ocean-front cabanas. The ocean-front restaurant serves a buffet breakfast with omelet bar and dinner. The bar and adjoining snack shack provide a relaxing poolside atmosphere. The property is located on the ocean in the north Ka’anapali beach area just a few miles north of Lahaina. More great dining is close by: Duke’s Beach House is a short walk south along the beach; the Plantation House at Kapalua golf resort is a 15 minute drive north; Leilani’s restaurant and the Hula Bar & Grill at Whaler’s Village are a short drive south. And, of course, we highly recommend at least a farewell dinner on your last evening at Mama’s Fish House near the little village of Paia which is close by the Kahalui airport.

This vacation booking was our first since joining the VNI family. Was there some skepticism initially? Yes, there was. The first time we called the KBC to confirm our reservations; the clerk indicated that it was possible that at least one of our four reservations might be moved during our stay to another unit on the property. A phone call to Raven at VNI allayed our fears about this possibility. None of us had to move midway through our vacation! Our unit locations were perfect.

We highly recommend this resort property. The only problem was time…the week we spent there was not long enough!
